Laser Treatment for Vessels

Our KTP laser is used to treat  red vessels or telangiectasias due to rosacea and sun damage, as well as some other vascular (blood vessel) lesions on face and skin elsewhere, such as cherry hemangiomas and spider angiomas. Certain small brown pigmented lesions can be treated as well; our laser provider will guide you as to the appropriate treatment for such based on the actual lesion diagnosis.  KTP provides beautiful clearance of vessels, especially those tough to eradicate vessels at the side of the nose.   It is one of our longest-standing lasers, still going strong with great results.

How Does the KTP Laser Work?

Like any laser, the wavelength is matched to the target in the skin that best absorbs that wavelength of light.  KTP is a 532 nm wavelength laser which is absorbed well by both oxyhemoglobin in red blood cells of the telangiectasias (tiny dilated vessels) and melanin (brown pigment) in sun spots being treated.

KTP treatment for the following skin conditions:

  • Rosacea
  • Telangiectasias (tiny dilated blood vessels)
  • Cutaneous Vascular Lesions
  • Pigmented and certain non-vascular skin lesions
